Apologies in advance if this is in the incorrect forum!

I am a newly qualified CA & have registered with a few recruitment agencies for vacancies they may have.

One agency got in touch with me during the week to say they might have some roles in practice which may suit me and the arranged to meet with me this weekend in a Dublin hotel.

My worry is - is this normal to be asked to meet up in a hotel to discuss vacancies? I thought it abit sleazy but not sure if I am just being silly!

    Any advice?

I would imagine it's one of two things:

    1) You meet in hotel lobby, and have less formal discussions over coffee

    2) They may be meeting a number of candidates and have hired a small meeting room to conduct interviews.

Although they are meeting you at the weekend...!! ;)

Thanks for your reply Sunny Dayz!

It was mentioned that it would just be an informal discussion but the whole idea of meeting in a hotel at the weekend??!!

Ah I am sure its all innocent - my mind is just thinking wrongly!!

thats very odd, but it could work to your advantage.

Make sure you get as much info on them as you can before meeting them.

firm handshake, eye contact at all times......

It could depend on where the recruiter is from as well. From the mails I get, some of them are actually based in the UK so they may be staying in the hotel for the weekends themselves???
