Anyone try Nourkrin or Regaine with good results?

    Hi folks,

I'm in my early 30's and have being noticing my hair thinning and hairline receeding around my forehead fairly badly of late, no doubt MPB, although using the blue dax from time to time doesn't help either I'm sure. It could be worse but all the same is causing me some anxiety and knocking my confidence somewhat.

As seems to be the case in the haircare world generally there seems to an absolute raft of products available, one claiming to be better than the next etc, etc.

Two that I see on the the shelves in many pharmacies are Nourkin medication and Regaine. I'm just wondering if any of tried either and if so how would ye rate them? I believe with Regaine there can be some more than expected thinning of hair in the first few weeks....Is this very extensive? Anyone using Nourkrin notice any side affects worth nothing?

I guess my question is what is the best treatment out there from yer trials and experiences? As they are quite expensive I obviously don't want to spend bucket loads of dosh with no results to show for it. Any tips/ advice appreciated.

I reckon if there was a good treatment out there Elton John would have it.
So from that I'd say to ya don't worry about and concentrate on more important things in life. It might be easier said than done initially but in the end you'll be sayin "fukkkit" like the rest of us :)

Give the money to me, mate, and I'll make you some magic hair.

You might as well do that for all the good Regaine will do. And I speak from experience as I used it for about a year or so. This was about 10 - 12 years ago, my hair was fullsome at the front but the middle / back was really thinning. I too used Dax wax (although I was hardcore and used the red one).

So I thought that I'd use that stuff but it had no effect. It was money down the drain. If your hair is going to fall out, NOTHING is going to stop it. I fought and fought against it for ages, but eventually I just figured it out, the shorter your hair is, the less bald you look.

So I went blade 8 all over. Then blade 4. Then after another year I thought, I might as well go blade 1. That allowed me to grow a bit of stubble at the same time, as it looks kind of cool. Now I shave it with a razor, blade 0, completely bald.

That's just the way I like it, but I'd always recommend people who are losing it to just shave it off, whether it be a blade 8 or a blade 1. You'll look much better, and as a consequence, feel much better too.

Just don't waste your money on Regaine.

Even if you're a great responder to Minoxidil (Regaine/Rogaine) and/or Finasteride (Propecia/Proscar), you're only delaying the inevitable. If you're very self-concious about it - personally I don't agree that everyone looks better bald at all, look at Ron Howard - my advice would be to use something like Toppik and wait things out, see if you want or can afford a hair transplant in the future. I'm delaying the eventual shaving or transplant scenario right now as I'm in my mid-to-late twenties and not sure I want to be fully bald yet or if ever if I can help it.

Also, if you're going to use Minoxidil or Finasteride, don't waste money buying the brand names in a store. Use something like Kirkland Minoxidil online - a generic version of Regaine, identical - and get an online prescription to pick up Proscar from qhi.co.uk.

Finasteride and Minoxidil are the only medications ever approved by the FDA as combating hair loss so anything else you see is likely just snake oil.

Yes if you keep the sides, you look like a monk with the old "toilet seat" hair - think more Jason Statham or Billy Zane. :)

Use spectral dnc, that's what I'll use when it starts failing out. A friend of mine has Ben using it on his temple/hairlines area and you could see new hair after about 2 months.

where did he get it from?

    shop or online?

Spectral DNC is Minoxidil, which is the generic term for the likes of Rogaine. I use Kirkland Minxodil from Minoxidil-direct.co.uk myself.

Does it work? how long are you trying it?
How is it shipped any extra costs?

He got it online, don't know what website, I'll ask him. It has other stuff in it as well as minoxidil, supposedly that's why you can regrow hair at the temples/hairline.

Delaying the the inevitable is better than nothing imo. The same could be said about taking antibiotics when you're ill - we're all going to kick the bucket at some point.:D

To the OP, I would try Regaine/Minoxidil before trying Nourkrin, it's cheaper and has a higher success rate for men.

Do you use the Nourkrin shampoo in addition to the Regaine carraghduff or instead of the Regaine?

About a month ago I seemed to have really rapid hairloss at the front of my head. I was out on the Sunday and was only thinking how thick my fringe was (pictures that night back it up) - by Tuesday it looked like someone had attacked my fringe with a thinning scissors.

It hasnt improved, so Ive bought Spectral UHP. Does anyone know if it can be used on the hairline? The box says its just for the crown of the head, but every website Ive read says it can be used for frontal hairloss.

Also, does anyone know if caffeine is a contributory factor? I drink probably 10-12 strong cups of tea a day - Ive seen a couple of people mention it on forums, but nothing consistent.

Caffeine is supposedly good for preventing baldness, along with dairy, liver, red meat and orange juice.

Google hair like a fox blog.

Wouldnt buy and e-book from a blog.
Site looks like your typical money making site.

Is there a place to read this for free?

There's free summaries available on his site somewhere in PDF. Also most of the info is scattered around his blog, only advantage to buying his book really is that the info is organised. I actually reckon he's onto to something, it seems like too much effort though as the diet isn't the easiest to follow. But defo worth snooping around his site .

Shave it off man if you're only noticing you're goin bald know I'd be willing to bet your friends are well aware of the fact you're fighting a losing battle.

I'm telling you once you crop it close you'll have plenty of confidence and be wondering what the big deal is. Hairs nasty when you thing about what it is.

I'm sure it's a monkey on you back but as said before look at the millionaires with the dodgy transplants looks like they'd a bit of crop rotation on their noggins. There's no miracle cure so afraid to tell ya it's gonna go one day.

Go bald gracefully don't end up like Donald Trump. Bald is Beautiful :D

If you wanna get the low down on options there's that hair transplant place in Dublin who'll arrange a consultation stressing yourself out about it will be part of the problem aswell but it's usually down to testosterone .

It's simply not possible to loose hair like that - seriously, major hair loss within 2 days? Regaine/minox work by thickening existing hairs - it's a gradual process, quicker with some people, but there's just no way you could experience such dramatic loss within 2 days.

Rogaine has clinical studies showing effectiveness for vertex thinning, so it sticks to that, and states that it's only effective for said areas - it actually works everywhere, just that they don't have clinical trials to show it's effective in frontal/hairline area.

Green tea is actually one of the mentioned items for preventative hair loss.

Minoix/Saw Palmetto/Nizoral...and then Finasterade. Fin is the most effective, but also the most likely to cause serious side affects.
