Anyone had any dealing with FedEx shipments from the US. I had one come in a couple of weeks ago with no problems and then yesterday I received an invoice in the post and a leaflet about duty and taxes.

The bill was for €29.50 on an item that was declared as $75 so I phoned up ready to bitch them out. A lady answered the phone and I started to explain that it seemed unfair the calculation they had worked out, so she said let me have a look for you and I gave the invoice number.

Then she replied all sorted now thank you and I was like HUH!!! what do you mean sorted and then she replied the was charge is cancelled that she took care of it for me.

I had another delivery arrive a week later by FedEx and she reckons I will get another invoice.

Can FedEx employees just write off customs duties?
