Looking for some advice here as to when or do you change the gear box oil for a Chrysler300c 3ltr Diesel. Main dealer say every 60k but now iv had a few people say don't change unless its giving problems as its a sealed unit " no dip stick".
There is a gear box repair Co in around Naas rd who has said leave well alone unless it starts jumping when in reverse like there is an air lock im guessing he means.
Anyway hope iv made this some what clear and look forward to your replies

I was looking into buying a BMW auto a while back and while researching about the car and its needs, they also have a sealed for life auto box, and with all the searches I did it was advised to change the gear oil every 35k miles regardless what the manufacture says. In the states they cannot call them sealed for life as if the unit goes ,they are liable for the cost of the replacement. The Americans take it as the life of the car which should extend beyond 120k miles which is when they seem to go faulty. So I would have it done, and if you check this out if the change is just removing the drain plug, and refilling this should be done again in the next service as the oil in the torque converter does not drain away it has to be sucked out.
By the ways ,nice car, but whats it like to drive a live with?

    Hi Anthony
Thanks for that I think I will get it done to be on the safe side its holds a huge amount of oil about 6 ltrs in the torque converter alone and about 10Ltrs around it.Its a great car to drive I use it mainly for weddings and corporate work its not great for parking in Tesco lol as its a bit to wide. Power is great and get about 8.5Ltr per 100km over all the ride is like sitting in your arm chair but can be a bit boat like on back roads
