Looking for a diesel saloon with 200bhp+ and these 2 seem to be a natural enough choice.

Would it be possible to get a 2008/9 m sport version of one of these at the end of the year for under 20k (and under 70k miles)? It appears the irish market for 2l+ cars has dried up since 08 so would most likely have to import!

    Thanks

They are rare enough here but a post 07 model would have cheaper tax on the new system but they are still rare. Your best bet is the UK for both choice and spec but I'd wait and see what way the Government tinker with the current tax system. The larger ones could become cheaper to buy if they become expensive to tax again. Your best bet on your budget is a 325d. There is a 07 for €16500 on carzone at the moment so sub €20k at the end of the year maybe possible.

Alternatively you could get a 320d and get it remapped to 210/220bhp easily, still would not be as nice as a 325d/330d though.

Would nearly be tempted if there was a 08 version of this at the end of the year at this price! Although dont think I'll be able to run and insure that for another few years!

320d m sport is a possibility too with the remap but I would probably want to get the 325d remapped anyway! I've got a 4 cylinder diesel at the moment so a move to the 6 cylinder would be great, particularly now the tax is somewhat mor justifiable too 08 on.

Unfortunately reasonable insurance is becoming a problem on these too, just do a search and you will find alot of these cars are being stolen meaning they are becoming high risk.

    38,000 miles on a 07! Jaysus that's low!

Sweet cars all the same, i was in a 535d before and they really do go well.

You have to think of resale value too, sadly. Like everything the more popular 320d will be a better seller in three years time.

You'll have much more choice in a 5er than a 3er with what you're looking for.

Your still limited to pre 2007 on a 5er for €20k or less.

2003 525i Sport with 55k kms (which is 34k miles) on the clock. Mileage when bought was verified by BMW and I have the Japanland service history!)

I have about 20 months - not too long given it was effectively new!
