Anyone any ideas? The Pump is screaming hot and making strange noises (as per video) on & off.

I should mention the system is connected to solar panels and a HRV system. I believe this to be the solar water pump.

    Any thoughts?

    That's mad!
My guess is a bearing is gone.
    Replace pump.
    Not too dear.

Never heard/saw the like before, pump obviously gone, turn off and don't turn on again until you get a new one.

Sounds like a dry running pump

If that is on the solar circuit, was it a DIY installation? It sounds like the impellor is melted. What is the temperature probe above the pump monitoring?
