tip for hanging a photo frame

    Hi,
    I couldn't find a general tips thread so deceided to add a new thread (was also of thinking of posting in Off topic).
    Use a nail for hanging a picture frame

    (there's some photos in the link, here's the text)

    handy trick for hanging picture frames: hammer a nail through a clothespin and use it to determine nail placement.

    Simply hang the picture on the clothespin nail, figure out where you want to place the frame, and then push the clothespin into the wall to make a small indent. Voila! Target acquired.

    Never use a nail to hang a picture frame

    use picture hooks!!!

    there is a technical reason too, steel nails with brass wire will cause corrosion and weaken the wire, to the point where the frame falls off the wall
