Cello string slipping-help?

    Hi guys (and gals!)

I recently bought new strings for my cello, and the A, D and G went on fine. However, when I tried to put on the C, it kept slipping out of the peg (as in the string came out of the hole on the peg), no matter how much extra string I out through to try and stop it. I also tried to bend the string a little at the top to give it more grip, but no luck. I have tried to find a solution to this but all the solutions on the internet seem to be for a slipping peg rather than a slipping string!

    Any advice?

Just ensure to wrap the second wound around and over the top of the the first one and that will keep it in place.
