I planted a Prunus serrulata 'Cheals' or 'Kiku-shidare' 2 years ago.
I pulled it up easily as its in a really marchy area of the garden and now im going to lay a patio there.
Does this tree need to be put into ground or if i get a really big pot can it live there?
Its about 4.9 foot tall and is more of a weeping style tree

My cherry tree is about 5foot tall and lives happilly in a moderately large pot, will probably plant on to a slightly larger pot next year, but it wont see the ground proper for a good many years.

Prunus serrulata is a small tree. It will be happy in a pot as long as the pot is large enough, and you water and feed it.
