Seen that i sold my .223 my father wants a rifle around the place to look after his lambs and to do a bit of lamping, i was talking to my local seargent and he said he'll allow a 22/250 so thats what i'm looking for as when i come back from travelling i can change it over to my name and apply for a deer license and then when i get it i can upgrade to a more suitable calibre for deer, so does anyone know of a cheap 22/250 preferbly threaded

Will also consider similar calibres if they come at a bargain price

Most dealers will have several second hand 22-250s at very low prices, since they are not as popular as they once were.
