My uncle in America passed away last year and just recently I received a letter from his solicitor to say I was due to receive a check for "roughly" 85k US dollars.
Does anyone know how much tax I would have to pay on this?

I should maybe rephrase this question and hopefully get a response,
The 85k USA Dollars is appprox 64k EUR, as a gift from my uncle how much tax will I have to pay on this amount?
    Thanks!

Depending on the circumstances you might have:

    1) a tax liability in the States,

    2) a tax liability here,

    3) a tax liability in both jurisdictions.

Ask the lawyer dealing with the estate, because it's possible he has already dealt with everything or ask another professional.
