I've seen a few of these programs that claim to inspect your pc and download the correct and most up to date drivers for all your components etc - do any of them work and can anyone recommend a few to me? I'm having a few issues and was about to do a wipe and reinstall but thought I might try this first... Thanks

I'm sure many just search a database (such as this) and give you links to the manufacturers drivers. I'd reccomend going into device manager, seeing what hardware is installed on the computer, and checking the manufacturers website, e.g: Intel, ATI, Nvidia, Realtek etc. for the latest drivers. Windows update will detect and install drivers as well, look in windows update settings and allow it to download device drivers from the net

I've found Driver Identifier to be useful, but I have only tried it on XP.

Get drivermax, it copys all driver files, to folder my drivers,Copy that folder to cdr or usb drive.Install drivermax, make backup, backup ALL drivers, then after windows ,install, reinstall it, use restore ,tick box, cdrom driver ,if cd driver is not installed by windows.

    see http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/#
i install it on every pc .windows xp,reinstall usually misses
    some drivers.
you dont need to make an account ,unless you are using driver update feature.

I personally use DriverGenuis, though it's not free it is very handy.
Though Windows Update does pretty much the same thing it can be unreliable.
