I have no shaving foam left can I get my badger brush and rub it on some normal soap and create a lather??

I also use a DE safety razor

You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. Normal soap lacks several key ingredients which give the much needed cushion and protect the skin against the blade.
Best bet is to nip down to a supermarket and pickup Palmolive shaving cream or shaving soap in stick form. Less than two quid each.

Hair conditioner is useful for softening stubble as a pre shave if you're really stuck!

Is "badger brush" code for something else?
