800 yoyo's for a Sora clad bike ... blimey that's very expensive IMO. If you can stretch your budget then check out this thread here

if you have an axa insurance policy you can get a 15% discount on things in halfords.

Boardman has a better spec. The frame and forks are quality gear.
In my opinion, worth the extra 40 yoyos.
On the AXA offer, they give 15% off everything, on production of an AXA card or Insurance certificate, they don't care, whose name it's in.
That would bring the price of the Boardman down to less than 700 euro.
Another thing, the Lapierre has a triple chainset, the Boardman has a compact double.

There's not a lot to choose between the Audacio 200 and that Boardman spec-wise. I bought an Audacio 200 in March of last year and got bitten by the cycling bug pretty bad. I ended up buying another bike earlier this year as I got so obsessed and wanted to try racing. I still have the Audacio and it's been rock solid as a training bike.

My advice would depend on whether you:
    • Are buying a bike to dip your toe in and see what cycling is about and you don't intend on racing.
      • Then don't spend a chunk now. Get one of those two and see how you get on. There's nothing wrong with 2300 let alone Sora - they're a little heavy but I've found 2300 to be bulletproof once it's broken in.
    • Intend to do a lot of cycling or suspect you may get hooked and want to try racing or long sportives?
      • If that's the case, you don't want to have to upgrade and either sell the first bike at less than half what you paid or hang onto it. You should consider stretching as much as possible and getting something a bit more advanced.
