Email on birthday

Hi,

I want to set up a very basic contact form on the site which asks for the users name and date of birth.

Once I've received those, I want to be able to automatically send an email to them on their birthday (email template defined by me)

So this is some sort of php/mysql query/cron job combination?

I've looked at autoresponders like mailchimp etc, but I'd prefer not to pay a subscription fee when my volumes are low, and I'd rather not have to manually do it either..

Anyone done this before?

Mailchimp is free for low volumes - up to 12,000 mails/month and 2,000 subscribers.

Hi daymobrew, free account doesn't include autoresponders. Which is a shame as mailchimp have a great little birthday feature.
