Hi guys, just wondering if anyone knows anywhere I can get short white lace gloves in Dublin? I'm putting together a 60s inspired wardrobe for a trip to London in a few weeks and I'd love to have a pair to complete one particular outfit and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some?

Try Eager Beaver. I'm nearly sure I saw some in there recently. If not there then you can get a cheapo pair in that joke shop beside the Gaeity opposite the Stephens Green Shopping Centre.

Thanks, I was in eager beaver today and Lucy's lounge, didn't see any, never thought of a joke shop, good suggestion though, thanks!

Are you looking for an authentic-type item or costume wear? Here's a US website for example: http://www.greatlookz.com/c=JeYDna9LDd3AYUNeuC14sRnap/category/dressy_gloves.lace_gloves/

Ooh there's some lovely ones there! They don't appear to ship to Ireland though (or am I missing something?) I'm going on the 16th too, so I'd be afraid they wouldn't arrive on time...as for whether authentic or costume, well authentic would be nice, but really it all comes down to price and availability I suppose!

Well whats your limit on price? How long do you want the gloves? All of these will affect your search.

Also do you have a particular vintage style in mind i.e. shoulder length, elbow length etc.?

Here is a site on opera gloves which are similar in style and from which cocktail gloves and so on derive: http://www.operagloves.com/links.html

Remember that as in the case of many online shops, if you contact them they will probably be able to post the gloves to you but not have that option listed.

If you have time in London I advise you to research specific theatrical and vintage themed outfitters as they will definitely have such items or be able to source them for you.

ATTENTION: when looking for gloves of this type do not be surprised to find various lingerie/adult shops stocking something similar. Bear this in mind if you're at work.

Short gloves, just to the wrist. Twenty euro would be my limit as i would oy wear them w one or two outfits. I could of course save myself for the annual Camden spree but I would rather have them before then!

Clerys stock formal gloves, I'm not 100% but I think they might have lace gloves

I'm pretty sure I saw some in Accessorize Dundrum about a week ago

This time last year I got a pair in H&M for €3.95, so might be worth a look there. I'd also recommend trying Claire's Accessories, they often have random items like that!
