    Hi Guys,
I have a ford focus estate, today when i was driving i went to put on the blower but there was no air flow into the car when i switched it on , the blower motor is working but when i turn the other selector switch to any of the air flow settings notting comes through but if then i press the recirculation button the air flow comes through no problem it just cant seem to bring the air in from outside. I was thinking if it was a blocked air filter surely some air would still pass and it was working fine yesterday anyway. Any ideas??? Thanks

Failing that could u be a little clearer is the blower working at least on all speeds?? If it is then I'd be very sure that ur getting feck all air is because of a blocked pollon filter but if the motor isn't blowing on different speeds ur problem is with the heater risistor but let us no and we can help u out

Yea the the blower works on all 4 speeds. I removed the pollon filter and it was dry and clean, i ran the blower without the pollon filter in place and still no air came through. Even when i turn the other setting switch to any of the other settings like say window, dash or feet setting very little comes through any of them if notting really.

Maybe the motor is turning but the fan is not pushing the air out.

How do i get at the fan? Do i remove the radio and then remove the 4 screws holding the bash in place and pull the dash off will i get at it from there?

No no no it should be in the box where the pollen filter is located

Sorry i removed the glove box and i can see the black box and the fan attached under the box. Im goin to sound stupid now but i was looking at the air filter under the bonnet:o Sorry. How do i remove the pollen filter from that box? is it hard to get at. The glove box is removed and carpet under it. It must be the filter because like i said when i press the recirculator button a door opens on that box to the inside of the car and it works no prob. Its just not bringing it in from outside. Thanks again

Yeah there should be clips there's holding the filter inside the box I can't remember exactly how it comes out but it should just clip in and slide out I'd say it is the filter just get it out and see don't worry about sounding stupid everyone makes mistakes

The focus have a problem with sealing the windscreen water runs right into the pollen filter .

Cant see how it can be taken out. You dont have to romove the fan or anything like that first to get at it? just clips? Ill get there in the end hopefully.

No i did not get my window changed recently but i know what you mean cause my back window has alway leaked.

Just a quick update found pollen filter it was not under the glove box compartment after all was just a plastic cover under the window under the bonnet. I removed the cover got one of the 13mm nuts off of the filter the second nut i am finding it very hard to get a spanner at it. Is there some sort of tool i can get? to get at it but anyway i lifted one side of the filter and turned fan on and it worked. do i need a new filter now or just clean the old one? and any taughts on getting that second nut off. its in a tight area
