Problems with Ford Fusion 2

Does anyone know of any problems with the ford fusion 3 with the 1.4 TDCI engine, year 2004?

Pretty sure its the same engine Peugeot use.

I have the Fiesta with the same engine. Great little car and so economical. €40 fills it with diesel too. Find the engine a little noisy in the lower gears but as soon as you hit fourth or fifth its silent.

I do a round trip of 260 miles every 2 weeks. I have a petrol engine doing 45mpg, which is good but the ford fusion 1.4 TDCI can possible do 60mpg! That's a big jump!

What kind of mpg would you get on the 1.4 TDCI?

I am not sure of MPG but I drive 40 mile round trip 6 days a week + 3 school runs each day and tip around at the weekends for my €40 a week.

ColmMcM - Very small tank on the Fiesta TDCi. I couldnt believe it myself when i got it. I never let it go into the red though so prob would take another 5 or 6 euro. Not complaining though.

I believe from Ford forums injector issues are not too uncommon. They are noisy too. Do you need a Fusion? My experience is that they are spacious but roll an awful lot when cornering. The interior is also very shabby.

I can't see the point over a Fiesta unless easy of access is a priority.

My girlfriend has one and I think they are great! Plenty of room all over! I'm a tall guy so I like the space in front. What is the fiesta in terms of space in front? Is it limited?

In the front a fiesta is fine. The more upright seating portion creates more space in the rear but not hugely.
