    Hey,
    I put a Meteor SIM into my Windows Phone 7(.5) device and I was sent a MMS message but I can't download it.
    I tap "get media content now" but it just fails around one second later.

    Anyone know how I can set my MMS settings on a WP7.5 device?

    Thanks

    No very familiar with W7 but with other phones you need to have Network Data configure/enable to receive MMS

    Did you have MMS on your older phone? It should work fine on WP7, although i never use MMS. Emails are much much cheaper.

    There's a reason we have sticky's.

    You can also use connection set up app.

    Guys,
    I manually set my APN to data.mymeteor.ie and I have connectivity with that.

    Yes MMS worked on my Android phone.

    Even with data connectivity, when I tap Get Message Content, I just get the error sound a second later.

    Does anyone here have a WP7 device that they got working on Meteor with MMS?

    That's for your internet, not mms...

    Hi thanks for the tips. I don't see anything in there for how to set up MMS on WP7.5.

    The Connection Setup App is only for HTC phones and mine is a LG Optimus 7 sadly

    Jeez you really have to be spoon fed.

    From Sticky http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=59855427&postcount=37
    Meteor MMS Settings
    * APN: mms.mymeteor.ie
    * username: my
    * password: mms
    * proxy address: 010.085.085.085
    * proxy port: 8799

    Under Settings > Cellular > click add [add apn] button

    Fill in the blanks

    Though as far as I remember LG Optimus 7 was a pretty crappy phone and some people had issues with MMS. As above MMS was useful when you used to have feature phones without email. You can email stuff now. Doubt much people use MMS

    As for the APN settings, these are the entirety of them:
    APN
    Username
    Password
    Proxy
    Proxy port

    I have tried many combinations of blank, mms.mymeteor.ie, data.mymeteor.ie, my, wap, proxies and no proxies. Sadly I can't get the phone to download the content.

    Yes. I know email is popular.

    I have a HTC Titan. MMS works fine here with the settings I gave you there. I even tried it again at my own expense

    Have a look in the Microsoft forum for others having same issue as you

    OK. So the actual MMS settings are only applied to the phone during the firstrun when the sim is inside the phone and there is no UI exposed to change it.

    Annoying.

    Well that's LG's fault, when I switch Sims on my phone the Connection Set Up automatically changes all the settings.

    As I said LG Optimus 7 was quite a crappy phone, that's why so many people picked it up brand new when it was on sale for under 180 euro.

    Search the Windows Phone 7 Launch thread. This was covered many many times :(

    MMS works fine on my Lumia and I did get it to work on my LG Optimus 7 when I had it.

    Try here for some settings:

    GREAT! Thanks!
    I got the Network Tool from the LG Marketplace and rebooted the phone a few times. It didn't seem to take effect until I queried for the current xml configuration from the MFG tool. Now I can receive MMS messages! GREAT!

    I've just had the same issue with a Omnia 7. No matter what settings I tried but wouldn't work. I figured out that it wouldn't download the mms without my data connect being switched on. :rolleyes:
