Hi, I find that the UPC wifi signal is very weak in parts of my house. Is there a way to add another wifi point upstairs to give a better signal or alternative solutions to this problem?

Get a set of home plugs and another router if you want. Basically you'll be creating another wifi network within your own network. I've this done for a separate cabin out the back. Works a treat!

You plug them into the electrical sockets and they act as network points. Run a cable from the router into one homeplug, then in a different room plug your device into a second homeplug. They work really well; I run my PS3 off one and its fantastic.
