I was doing my own car and got some wax on a bit of black trim what is the best way of removing it.

I don't want to strip the wax off the doors if I can avoid it and i don't want to just mask the wax with a trim protectant as when they wear off the wax is generally visible again.

Spray a plastic restorer on a cloth and carefully work it into the area.

Peanut butter also works a treat!

In order to remove the wax from the trim, use alcohol wipes or a small bit of methylated spirits on a cloth. Pour some on the cloth then run it under a tap for a second to dilute it a bit.

If you're going to use this on black trim in one area, you may aswell wipe the whole trim to get any ingrained grease and dirt off it. This will give an excellent surface for any trim restorer to bond to as there will be little or no silicone-based products on it to stop it adhereing.
