Breaking Bad was highly recommended to me after i had gone through all series of Dexter (which was truely fantastic, one or two episodes aside). I'm now in season 3, episode 3 i think, and aside from the last couple of episodes in season 2, i'm waiting for it to get as good as people are saying.

Maybe it's just not for me, but it feels so drawn out. I get what the director/writers are doing, keeping it as true to life, and trying to portray exactly how the characters feel, and the effect the cancer/cooking is having on them, but so far i'm ranking it up there with films like Drive and Donnie Darko; over-hyped and completely not for me. My mate kept saying stick with it, it picks up, but it's not.

I know i'm putting myself in a position by writing this here, in the Breaking Bad forum, but i'm hoping people can point out exactly why they think this series is so good, as i feel i'm missing something.

I'm getting to it (1 episode of GoT to go!), but should i not already be involved in this show by now, or does it really take 2 and a bit series to get going?

The first half of season 3 is a little scattered, but after that, things really kick up a notch or two and they really pull things together more tightly.

They say it can really hurt the first time, maybe even some bleeding, but after a while you'll be gagging for it all the time and wonder why you were ever afraid to try.

    You didn't like Drive either?

Forget about it, it's not for you.

I have to say i loved it from the very first episode so maybe it isnt for you. Imho season 4 was the weakest but with a great final season which im expecting it will be, this show will be my favourite show ever.

Ok, so just finished watching season 4, and it did pick up. Imo, season 4 was the best. There was something happening in every episode, made me want to keep watching. Felt to me like seasons 1 & 2 were fluff for seasons 3 & 4. Don't know could I recommend people with the same interests as me to sit through 2 1/2 seasons before it gets interesting. If it keeps up thr pace and excitement of season 4, then it will keep my interest.

Watched Drive 3 times and everyone still tells me "You just don't get it"
Ryan Gosling is a brutal actor and that was a brutal film, no matter how much of a retro feel it has.
