Looking for a watch that will vibrate every x number of minutes/hours. Whether by multiple vibrating alarms, self resetting countdown timer, reminder function or whatever.

After a bit of googling I came across a few but they all look like gimmicky type things.

Has anyone come across a good watch that would have these features ?

Speaking from personal experience, Casio RFT-100 is excellent - but I don't know if by 'gimmicky' you mean 'digitally' so it may not be what you're looking for. I've used one for almost 10 years in rain, sleet, snow, mud (lots and lots of mud), even the very occasional sunny day, and it has never failed, and is still on its original battery.

You can set the vibrating alarm for whatever time period you want - but once it goes off you will have to start the clock again for it to repeat - so strictly speaking it does not have multiple vibrate alarms.

No i dont mind a digital watch, by gimmicky I meant some of the ones I came across seemed like jml "thats a neat idea" type things or ones for kids being potty trained. Most of them were cheap looking with a hefty price tag.

I figured if I'm gonna be paying a bit I might as well get a decent sports watch or something. That one looks pretty good. I never knew refs had their own special watches.

Looking at G-Shock watches on the Casio site and they look like the business. Doesnt mention anything about vibration on the spec lists though.

G Shocks are the bomb - I have several and at one stage owned far, far, far too many.

There are two I can think of with a vibrating alarm. One of is the GW-400 'Silencer' series. These I believe were Japanese Domestic Market only and you would have to go to the bay or to an exporter to get one - there are three 'standard' sources for that all of which come highly recommended. Let me know if you need/want details. These carry a fairly hefty price tag (think roughly €400).

The G-7500/G-7510 also has a vibe alarm and should be more widely available and cheaper - perceived to be not as desirable amongst collectors.

Well, the marketing is probably a little big gimmicky tbh - any solid digital watch would do you.

The reason that one's so handy for refs though is that when normal time is up you don't beep so you don't get players shouting for the whistle. It also displays elapsed time on two stopwatches simultaneous, and when you click the big button on the side one stops while the other continues - this lets you run a 'dead clock' while also keeping track of how long you've been on the pitch. Also does standard stuff like countdown timer etc.

it also has great big numerals - our eyesight is not so great y'know :D

I did happen on the G7500 through google but couldnt find it for sale, can only find one G-7510 on e-bay being sold from Hong Kong.

:D:D I'll be with ya holding the collection plate.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Certina's Multi-8 has a vibrate function, among 7 others. Pretty cool watch. Can be hard to get your head around though!
