My name is Stuart Fraser I am an Advanced Paramedic with the National Ambulance Service in Birr County Offaly. Some of my colleagues & I are planning to cycle a two day road run to raise money for The Crumlin Medical & Research Foundation of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Crumlin.

Sophie is the daughter of Leona Mcdonald a Paramedic stationed in Portlaoise, County Laoise. Sophie was born 5 months ago with renal failure & a hole in her heart. She is currently being taken care of in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin. We are raising money to help refurbish the hospital departments who have managed to keep Sophie alive over the past 5 months.

As this is aimed at being a fun run & not a race, we are looking for participants & cycle groups of all levels of fitness. Please put the 26th & 27th of May onto your cycle calendar. Anyone is welcome to take part as cyclist's with or without sponsorship.

    Details are as follows:

Saturday 26th 11:30am in Longford Town & onto Ballymahon, Athlone, Mullingar & Edenderry (Approx 121km).

Sunday 27th 11:30am in Tullamore & onto Birr, Roscrea, Borris in Ossary, Mountrath & Portlaoise approx (100km).

There will be minibuses & bike carrying vehicles to assist cyclists who may not be able to cycle the whole distance I.e. cycle only 2-3 miles through each town. A mobile bicycle machanic & medical support are available the whole way. Bikes & cyclists can also be collected & dropped off to each starting point from set locations.

Full details & sponsorship cards can be obtained by the organiser Gerry McKeon Paramedic Tullamore on 083 003 7746 or email gerrymckeon@eircom.net

    Many thanks.

    Stuart Fraser
