Parking ticket - Photo?

I got a reminder about a parking ticket that I supposedly got in castlebar. Now I never saw any tickets on the car and I would have paid parking anyway. Im also not sure that I was in castlebar on the day in question. Im wondering are they required to take a photo of the car when issuing a fine as I would have 2 queries - Was I actually there and how did they not see the parking slip on the dash? I will be ringing them tomorrow but want to be prepared as im sure the office staff will just be saying that I must pay the fine.

Have you got something that can prove that you werent in Castlebar at the time? A receipt maybe, or something on a laser/credit card that shows you were somewhere else?

Well were you possibly there? If someone asked me was I parked in Castlebar at any stage last year I am 100% sure I was not, if you go there occassionally perhaps you were, maybe check your bank transactions on the day to see if you were.

its possible I was there but my point was that I would have paid to park anyway and I didn't get a ticket on the car. I'm just not happy to just pay them in this case hence my question re photos.

AFAIK they have a digital camera and snap the car so the reg can be seen. Certainly do in Dun Laoghaire anyway, noticed it happening several times.

Is it possible that you paid to park and the ticket fell off your dash or something? In which case the onus would be on you to prove that you paid.

No ticket though on the windscreen from warden either though.

I didn't think they put a ticket on the windscreen anymore, just a letter a few weeks later outta nowhere!

Update, they say that they have a photo of the car with car reg shown and ticket on the windscreen. I'm struggling to understand this if I'm honest. Must go in to inspect photo.

all the ticket machines have a camera, gps and wireless connection to the office for tickets, wardens check if your illegaly parked, if you are, ticket + pic+ sent to the office.
