Where are you moving to Ireland from?

Have a look here, you should find most of the information you need.

Citizens Information - Moving to Ireland

You just need your passport, free movement of labour and all that. You'll find the cultural differences alot of fun! :)

Once you get here get a PPS Number (NI Card) and a bank account. Getting a bank account here can be a real pain in the backside in comparison to the UK. Irelands banks are far less customer orianted than banks in the UK and the rules are tighter. Next find a good local and enjoy.

Oh and get used to being the first one to leave at parties things kick off alot later here and finish alot later. Plus no one is ever on time. Its evolved here so that meeting at 7 means half 9 because everyone knows everyone else will be late so it just gets later and later.

Nagan - Small curved bottle (of vodka)
    Knacker - Chav
    Pikey - Gypo
    Guard / Garda - Policeman
More as I think of them

    Hey there,

This forum is for asking for advice on issues of a personal nature.

Squiggler has given a link to Citizens Information which is the best site to start looking at for info on emigrating to Ireland.

    All the best.
