Des Cahill on James Mc Clean situation

Did anyone else hear this morning Des Cahill's report on Mc Clean and Trappatoni? It seems that Mc Clean will be included barring injury in the travelling squad at the expense of a senior international. The interesting point though is that the selection will be due to possibly a personal reason or otherwise (non injury related) which will result in this senior player not being able to travel. According to Cahill more will be revealed in about a weeks time as no further information can be given out yet??

I think Emmet Malone alluded to thiss in his article in the Irish Times this morning. It could be Fahey who is injured. Other than that it may be one of Duff, McGeady or Hunt.

Hopefully that senior international will be Paul (ironic surname) Green. The most perplexing cap I've seen since Joe Lapira.

any of the squad missed a few games lately apart from those with injuries?

i hope its nothing personal and that the player to miss out, is dropped based on ability and not due to something unfortunate.

Is there many precedents of players (esp players who don't get many chances) missing a finals on personal grounds? I don't think I've heard of it before.
