temporary insurance when buying a car

    I will be picking up another car on Wednesday, my question is did anybody ever get temporary insurance like the 24 hour one they have in the UK? or has anyone transferred their policy over to a new car and then back again after collecting it? I dont want to drive with no insurance.

    Got it sorted, just for people interested in what to do insurance wise when buying new cars, every insurance company are diffrent but I am with XS direct. They offer up to 3 temporary transfares for free and these will last for up to 14 days. Any more than 3 transfares will incur a cost(€50) as far as I know. The car I am getting would be down as an import and high performance(debatable) also.
