    just said id put this up as it might be a help to someone,got a call off the womans father earlier saying his keys had locked into the car i think it autolocked anywho got a clothes hanger and tryed to open the door via the handle but it had a double lock so we tryed to get the keys from the ignition but it wasnt moving i gave it one final pull and the key separated leaving the key in the ignition and the and the piece that comes off to change the battery which also had the buttons on it got it out thru thr door and bang she opened

    Could have been in the back of beyond, plus not everyone still has two keys. I don't.
    Personally, if I had no other way, I would return to my car to find some evil mastermind had put a brick through my windscreen.

    Not a dickhead answer just common sense really, and all vag cars come with a spare key just means some random stranger has it now, a nice thought when you park up for the night.

    A lot of keys get lost. Big deal.

    And, believe it or not, cars not from the fabled VAG stable also come with spare keys. Another sign the superiority gap is closing perhaps?
