On board guitar effects

    I'm thinking about creating a guitar from spare parts I have and I have a spare Boss DS-2 lying around that I would love to include as an on board effect on the guitar. I know it's possible as there's alot of people that use modded guitars with ordinary pedals built in but I was wondering if there was a way to do it without the need for the mains power supply or battery (probably sounds stupid but if I have to use one could you tell me which one you think might be best).
    Also if anyone has any links to similar style circuit diagrams/tutorials it would be greatly appreciated!

    If you plan on using the internals of the Boss pdeal, you should measure the circuit board size first to see how much room you would need. It would require a power supply, and a battery would be best option, but again you would need to make provision for a battery compartment. The battery would require easy access for changing or else a rechargeable battery with an input for a charger. To fit these you may need to remove wood from the body to make space. Probably better to look for dedicated on-board effects circuits as these would be designed to minimize space required.
