Downloading from Sky+ box

Hey all, I have a Sky+ and I want to transfer some programmes from the box to either my laptop or to disks. I understand that the former would be a pain in ar*e for someone who's not particularly tech savvy, but that I'd need a DVD recorder for the latter. I don't mind buying a recorder for this purpose, but I want to make sure that this method actually works before I splash out. Which is why I'm here! Any ideas on whether it does?

    Thanks.

Recording to DVD Recorder works for me but it's pretty slow as you have to playout the entire programme as if you were watching it. Most stuff can be recorded to DVD except Macrovison protected stuff, which is basically box office content.

I agree with Miichael it works fine. You can then rip the dvd on your pc. This thread might help.
