Well I'm kind of screwed for the Prós question on the junior cert Irish paper. I have a crap teacher and we've only done one Prós, 'An t-Ádh' le Pádraig O Conaire, and I have no idea how to write an answer to the question.
Is there anyway someone could write me a sample answer for it? Should I try and learn another Prós before the exam in June? Any help would be much appreciated :)

Just so you know, we only did that too and my Irish teacher for JC was actually really good, though a little over the top. An t-adh fits all the themes - country life, tragedy, adventure, and if I remember it properly you get a choice of 5 themes. I've no idea about notes because we never actually read our poems or prose (I know :pac:) but Google might help. :)

Get Revise Wise Irish - they have An T-Adh all planned out in the book, gives you all the themes as well.

And I actually think two stories is enough (and I'm only doing one) so don't sweat it, you get 5 themes and An T-Adh has like all the themes.

Teacher gave this to us the other day, I think it's similar or nearly the same as Revise Wise !
If you want poetry - Subh Milis and Gealt, oh and An tOzón
I also have another Pros handout on Marie Curie - loads of themes for this.
I have a few stories as well - Party, Concert and the Best Holiday I ever had.

An tÁdh le Pádraig Ó Conaire

    Téamaí
    Cairdeas - friendship
    An óige - Youth
    Bás - Death
Tubaiste a tharla - Disaster that happened
    Dílseacht - Loyalty
    Ádh - Luck
Saol na tuaithe/saol in aice na farraige - Life in the country/life at the seaside
    Baol - Danger

    Na Mothúcháin sa scéal
    Brón - Sadness
    Briseadh croí - Heartbreak
    Aiféala - Regret
    Imní - Worry
    Tuiscint - Understanding
    Misneach - Bravery

    Sample Answer

    i) Rinne mé staidéar ar an scéál "An tÁdh" le Pádraig Ó Conaire. Scéal faoin mbás é an scéál seo.

ii) Baineann an scéal seo le buachaillí óga a chónaigh faoin tuath na blianta ó shin - Pádraig, Séamas agus Micilín. Bhídis i gconaí ag deánamh rudaí nár choir dóibh a dhéanamh agus bhain siad an-taitneamh as an saol. Saol na tuaithe agus saol in aice na farraige a bhí ann. Chuaigh beirt de na buachaillí amach ar an bhfarraige i gan fhios d'aon duine. Bhí Tom Beag ag dul go Garumna an lá sin chun muca a dhíol agus chuaigh an bheirt bhuachaillí isteach fanacht do Tom, fuair Pádraig an tráithnín fada agus bhí air fanacht. Bhí an-bhrón air faoi sin ach ag deireadh an scéil, níor tháinig an bád ar ais agus bádh an bheirt bhuachaillí. Bhí an t-ádh le Pádraig sa deireadh.

Yup, it's fine. Bás is due up this year, so it would be a good one to learn.

1/2 a page is more than enough if your Irish is good and you have made the connection between the given theme and the story.
