    Hi folks,

What is the story with the single room supplements? Room rate is almost the same as for two people, its so unfair  . I usually head for europe where you get a pretty decent standard of room - am getting too old for slumming it!! So if anyone knows of a web site for booking single rooms it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Actually I would love to go to Thailand and head for the islands but don't know if I am brave enough on my own. The reviews and tips on boards are very encouraging though. Will have to do it soon though before I go on the zimmer frame haha :D

I went to Thailand on my own a few years back. I stayed in a hostel and met some really great people who I travelled on to an island with. I was only there for ten days but it was one of the best holidays ever.

I agree with you - the single supplement is a killer but this way you have more fun irrespective of age
