I'm not a big fps fan, i've played a few the last being x111 and black. Black was just a gripping, intense, amazing game. Anyone recommend any similar games with the same amount of constant action, blurry reload sorta feel to them?

Isn't singularity made by the same people? Or you could... try child of eden?

Unfortunately I missed black on the ps2, couldn't find it anywhere when it was released, although I've played a fair few ps3 shooters and I'd recommend the following games.

Crysis 2: Great looking game, interesting story, can be quite intense depending on your style of play.

Killzone 2 & 3: Kinda cheezy story but 2 great looking shooters, especially 3. Constant action with a few nice set pieces in both. Both still have strong multiplayer communitys as well.

Medal of Honour: Decent game, but very easy unless played on harder difficulties. Extremely dumb AI in parts. Campaign starts off quite slow but builds up nicely and finishes with some very intense missions.

Notables, these are all decent shooters but aren't that intense or gripping and I doubt they are what you're looking for.

Rage: Was expecting way more from this game given ID were behind it and the amount it was hyped and advertised but was disappointed. Again way too easy unless ramped up to harder difficulties. I found it extremely repetitive, get a mission off someone where you have to drive to the location to find someone's body, find something or fix something. As a shooter though, its solid.

Battlefield 3: Very confusing story, you have to pay attention to the cut-scenes and dialogue or you'll be lost. Again it has some good set pieces but is very linear and throw in a few needless quick-time button mashing moments and you've got a sub-par shooter in my opinion.

Singularity: Interesting game with some cool mechanics used throughout. Can be gripping and intense at times but not enough to make it too memorable.

Well that's my two cents on of a few of the shooters I've played on the PS3, although having not played black I hope my post isn't irrelevant. Most of these games can be picked up for around 15 euro or less on sites like the hut or second hand in gamestop and hmv so most are worth a punt.

I think the game you are looking for is Bulletstorm.

Made by Epic Games, the guys behind Gears of War and Unreal, it basically rewards you for killing people in imaginative ways.

I remember playing the Black demo to death, at full blast. It was just a sledgehammer-to-the-face of a game.

    Good times.

Actually, Bulletstorm is by Ready to Fly, a different company altogether.
Their previous game was Painkiller on the Xbox, a cracking little fps, a bit like a gothic Serious Sam.
Bulletstorm is ridiculous, fun but ridiculous and has way too much QTE in there.
Some stand out moments though, and the swearing is bizarre to put it mildly.

Actually, the team behind Black made Burnout, Criterion games, not the recent efforts but Burnout Paradise and prior to that.
