    Hi guys,

I'm changing out the genny in my gixxer and I forgot to order the feckin gasket for the genny cover when I was ordering the stator (from an Interweb vendor). I have the old one out and as usual, half the gasket stayed attached to the bike, and the other half is welded to the cover with something akin to the same substance that attaches a cornflake to the bottom of your breakfast bowl when you you're trying to wash it.

Do any of you good people know of anywhere that may have such an item lying on a shelf in stock that I could pick up on Monday?

I know Tallaght Superbikes are Suzuki dealers. You think they'd have one in stock?

Anxious to get the bike back up and running.

    Cheers,
    Alan.

lots are closed on monday, as you probably found out - only just seen this thread now

Just bung some silicone on it till you get the new gasket....

I got the proper gasket sealant stuff from Halfords, the stuff for rocker covers and oil sumps.

I'm debating whether to just seal it up using that until I get a proper gasket.

I'll drop up to Cotters tomorrow at lunch time to see if they have a gasket handy.

    Thanks for the replies lads.

the sealer would be fine but you could also buy some gasket paper from a motor factors and trace the old gasket onto the paper and cut out a new one, probaly work out cheaper than a new 1 from a dealers too

Replaced the stator there this evening. I went with honeybadger's suggestion of using gasket material and some sealant.

Just need to wait for the sealant to cure fully and I'll be ready for a test-spin :D. Can't wait.
