Have a bubble on a (branded) tyre with 5mm left on it. It is on the inside wall of a rear tyre. How dangerous is this in the very short term?

Probably going to get 2 new ones.

My priorities are safety/ mpg / long lastingness / quietness.

Chucking the car into corners on a wet Saturday is a long way down the list of priorities.

The other 2 on it are fresh and I really want to avoid needing 4 tyres at once next time round.

Max budget is going to be less than €100 / corner, probly nearer €80.

    Any suggestions welcome......

    Thanks.

I'd be changing that tyre with the bubble on it sharpish.
I put accelera's on the front of mine recently.
Very happy with the grip, i cant obviously comment on the longevity yet.
They are a small bit noisy on country roads.
Mine are 225/45/17 and were 80 euro each.

Acceleras are possibly the worst tyre I have ever come across. 205/55 16 is an extremely common size so it is possible to get a premium brand tyre for less than €100 fitted and balanced. I would be looking for something like a Bridgestone Turanza T001 which should be available for approx €95 per corner.

Turanzas are a great tyre in my experience, a bit expensive perhaps but you get what you pay for! Certainly compared to Hankooks they're far superior. I think Firestones are grand tyres as well, never had any problems with those either but they don't seem to last as long.

Im a bit surprised you think that, with all the really ****e stuff out there.
All i can say is that to get the front of my alfa to push on in a corner with them on, insane entry speeds are required, no problems during the recent monsoon, and the abs doesnt go mental when i brake hard in the wet.
    Imo that means good tyre.

Turanzas are the best tyre I've ever had, and possibly save me rear ending a car last year in murky weather. I'm sticking to them anyway, even if they're marginally more expensive.
