Why doesn't Rugby have something similar to Fifa club world cup ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_Club_World_Cup ) between the Super XV top 2/4 and the Heineken Cup finalists/Amlin cup finalists. The ideal time to host it would be towards the end of July or towards the start of the new Super XV season in January.

Because northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere seasons finish at different times of the year so your eating into players holidays else competion schedules; because the seasons are long enough without introducing extra games; because the world wendyball championship is such a success that nobody really cares about it; because of lots of other very plausible reasons that I can't think of right now

Difficult enough to have the world cup every 4 years.

Mismatch of North and South seasons means it would be too difficult to organise
