    Why no remaps?

Because a badly done one is more hassle than it's worth

The only one I found on DD in your Specs but just outside your Budget:

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3019205

Full service history from Main Dealer, Low Mileage, Best Colour (IMO)

    This one

Meets all your requirements except the leather which I'm sure you could fit second-hand. Some people like the tartan interior including myself so you could sell that too and make some of the money back on the leather interior.

Saw that myself but didn't post it as it had the Tartan seats and not the Leather. I prefer the Tartan myself too. Looks much better IMO.

Xenons and seats i may consider doing myself later on, would love some ED30 half leather/tartan seats or the Leather recaros from the R32

Abit expensive for a 2007 but will add it to the "maybe" list. the add rubs me up the wrong way though, no interior pics a picture of the driver idling the car and tearing away, doesn't say full service history but says quick car which could be taken in many ways.

I think you will struggle to get the exact spec tbh. The xenons are a rare option on Irish cars, the leather too! DSG is great and its what i'd buy if i was looking for a GTi too.

Joe Power remap would be as safe as houses :D tbh, and you can always ring him to see what he thought of the car in question ;)

Dont know what the Highline point is, doesnt the GTi carry its own trim level and doesnt obide by the Comfort, treand, or high lines? What bugs me about the GTi's out there is that these were a 40k car new and they came with twisty heater dials as standard instead of the optional digital climate control and MFSW was also an option

My mate paid 38k for his GTi in 07 and my god, its so basic, luck the engine makes up for it :D

Yea that one i linked above is pretty much exactly what im after, will see if it's around in afew weeks, highline i think just means you use all of the led display instead of half of it, xenons and highline are by no means big things milage servicing(especially the dsg box) are the big issues a nice colour and some moo moo's wouldn't go astray either though as it's my first nice car :)

That car's also been fully colour coded which looks terrible IMO. It needs the black bits or it looks like a white blob.

Xenons are very rare on Irish cars so you'll struggle there. Leather more common though, but don't get too hung up on it cos the quality isn't hectic - more pleather than leather :pac: It looks very saggy and worn in no time on a lot of Gti's I've seen.

I had climate control on mine, great feature if you can find one with it. Kinda sorry I skipped it on my new bus.

Would not rule out a car with a Joe Power remap. He's renowned as one of the best in the business.

You'll also struggle to find a car with immaculate alloys - and they are not possible (or at least not easy!) to refurb.

My bad when i said remap i meant to say a joe power stage 1 remap is the only one i would be after as there are alot of cowboys around with laptops and it could ruin the cars refinement and general feel.

About the colour coding i would agree, the only visual mod i would make would be a 2 tone black and whatever colour the car itself is ED30 front splitter, not alot out there atm though but we will see, as i have posted before i have a Skoda Octavia 2002 and i really dislike the fabric seats in it, they feel cheap and tacky im just assuming the tartan cloth seats would be the same in the GTI

I had the tartan and loved it. It doesn't photograph well for some reason, but in the right condition I think it looks great in the flesh. It also wears very well and is v comfortable. The ed 30 seats with the leather bolsters would be ideal!

That's ridiculous money altogether, the lad selling that is nuts if he thinks he will get that sort of money.

I bought a 2006 GTI just before Christmas, now spec didn't concern me as much for instance I actually wanted the tartan cloth seats and manual and was happy to do without Xenons. It also had 30000kms less on the clock and I paid nowhere near that sort of money.

Also your better of with the 17inch wheels, initially the 18's look nice but the 17's grow on you and I'm glad I didnt get the 18's now but more importantly the 18's are very hard to keep and have a known corrosion problem which cant be solved as far as I know.

Yea it's abit steep i wouldnt offer alot over 11k tbh and i doubt it would be worth the hassle of that much haggling.

I reckon they look best in white. In black they seem quite plain.

DSG is a great choice as well.

Going by what I paid for mine and considering its a year newer and higher spec, but higher mileage and shorter nct I wouldn't go above 10k for it to be honest. Thats if it were manual, I dont really know what extra value to add for DSG but as we all know extras often count for little when selling on a car.

    This for example http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3314576

Doesn't have the spec, but a year newer and similar mileage. That could be bought for close enough to 10k so that would tell me a higher spec but 1 year older model could be got for around the same.
