Needs to get my alloys done, 17" Saab.

Anyone used either of these two?

    www.wheelwizards.ie/

    www.carcosmetix.ie

300-350 seems to be the going price.

Any other suggestions or cheaper places?

Only used wheelwizards to get some buckles fixed but they dont do them themselves. I asked about refurbs at the time and I think he said 90 euro per wheel (mine are 18" MV2s)

Anyone know if you have to get the whole wheel done or can you just part of it done? 2 of the wheels have very bad marks on them and 2 only only have curbing marks.

You'd probably run into colour blending issues if you tried doing half-wheels or messing around like that

    PX Wheels

If near the border, can pay through ebay.

    Yes.

    THeir work is absolutely outstanding.

It's approximately €225 to get four 17' alloys done with them. Obviously there is carriage to and from the UK, but if you are looking at €350 here then you have a window of €125 for carriage.

Nu Luk in Belfast have a great reputation also.

Edit: I'm sure you could find somewhere that would do a partial refurb, but as mentioned above, you might be left with an alloy where there are slightly different colour shades on it. Can you live with that? I can't / couldnt. In fact, I couldn't live with knowing that one of your alloys has two different colours, I might have to steal them if you get a partial refurb done ;)!

Did you ring them to get the price of €225? Their website says £188 +vat so would be €282.

:o Ooh my bad, I dunno where I got that figure from. I knew it was £188 +VAT. I must have miscalculated it!

Apologies about that and thanks for flagging it!

So I guess not as much wiggle room for the carriage at the €282 price to bring it in less than the quote you got.

I am getting a carriage rate of €60 return for my set, but it's based on a pallet with a few sets of alloys on it. Sending a set on it's own would probably push the overall price above your quote.

Again, my apologies, a momentary lapse in brain functioning!

Edit: Also, Tallaght Powder Coating is another option.

No worries, just wanted to make sure there wasnt some secret club that I didnt know about :)

Am only getting prices at the moment so all options still open.

Will have a look at them as well, thanks.

    Heh, no secret club unfortunately!

To save you some time, I just heard back from Nu Luk with a quote, and it rings in at £340 + VAT !

Not cheap, but I have always heard positive things about them. I have however also heard that they are a touch on the expensive side too!
