Your stamps won't run out. The claim days are frozen once you start on the Internship and restart again after you finish.

I have a situation where my stamps are due to run out very close to or on my JobBridge Internship Start date.

To try to help myself avoid this, would it be an option for me to sign off my JB claim for a few days or maybe even a week now, then re-sign back on the following week to ensure I have enough JB days to carry me to the Internship start date? or would this be totally out?

Doubt if that would be possible. Would you not explain to the host organization for the internship that you would need to start a week earlier? Surely it would not inconvenience them in anyway as they will not be paying you anyway. Obviously they want you for the internship and if you let them know you cannot afford to do it if your base payment is reduced, they can move it up a week.

I have checked with the company and unfortunately I can't start any earlier.

Was hoping it might have been possible to sign off a few days if necessary before the internship start date. I have noticed guys in the SW office when I sign on every month saying they got a few days work and wasnt sure how that operated tbh.

I know obviously they got the days they worked deducted from their payment, but I wasn't sure if that meant the days they didn't claim for then could be claimed for at the end of their claim instead, if that makes sense, and I was hoping I could possibly do the same if I needed to extend my JB end date to make sure I was still on JB when I started the internship.

Basically from what i can gather, a JB claim currently runs for a max of 292 days. I wanted to try to suspend payment of some of those days and avail of it later in the month rather than earlier.

jsb runs for 312 days.... be very careful about closing your claim and re-opening as far as I know the criteria for internship is that you have to be in payment for 78 days prior to taking up the internship.

The jobseeker has to have been receiving JA/JB or signing for Credits for 78 days in the last six calendar months.

So does anyone know if I would be allowed to suspend my JB for a week say and then resume it again to make sure I will still be in benefit when I commence my Internship?
