    Can you still do the Ceard Teastas? They did away with the need for it as a requirement for a job in the VECs in the late 90s.

    The State Examinations Commission run the teastas I dteagasc na gaeilge which is only open to second level teachers. You can download the forms on www.examinations.ie

    as far as I.know it is an oral exam only and is the qualification needed to work in a gaelscoil or t teach a subject through Irish unless of course you have a degree in Irish

    I posted this is a thread a while back. Off the top of my head it's run around this time of year, closing date in and around feb and if you email the SEC through examinations.ie with your address they'll post out the info booklet and criteria. Oh and it's free!
