Job contract not being renewed, what can I claim?

    Hi folks,

My current employers have recently informed me that they cannot renew my temporary contract, I had been with them for a year. To be honest it came as a big shock but after being told what was going on behind the scenes with regards to losses, I can understand where they are coming from

So basically I've been forced to move back in to the family home with the intention of leaving the country in mid-June to find work elsewhere.

I'm just wondering what, if anything, I am entitled to claim while living with the folks?

I've read conflicting posts, some saying I will be able to claim full dole until I leave because I've been working full time for the past year and some saying I will be entiled to very little as I'll be living at home(I'm 22 btw)

Any info would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

Job seekers benefit is the first thing to apply for. If you get it and how much you'll get is based on how many prsi stamps you have over a given period, and what age you are. Your parents income has no effect on this.

If you don't get jsb, then you apply for job seekers allowance, which is means tested and your parents income does count.
