Is It possible to buy a sky + HD from a third party and use it for free and without a hd subscription?

What channels will you get on a HD box without a subscription?

Do I have to buy sky cards or anything?

Will my channels on my normal sky box be on the NEW box?

If I buy it from amazon.co.uk will it work in Ireland?

Will I have to phone sky to activate the box?

    Answers will be greatly appreciated!:D

Yes but you wil only be able to receive a couple of HD channels

Im not sure where to access a list but if you are currently a Sky subscriber then remove the card and reboot the box with the card upside down and whatever channels you can get that way you will get the same with a new hd box.

Do I have to buy sky cards or anything?
No but if you wanted to receive ITV regions and "5" channels then you can buy a card privately and do the "card trick"

Will my channels on my normal sky box be on the NEW box?
Not entirely sure what you mean. Are you a sky subscriber now? If so then you will have RTE. TV3 etc which you wont get if you are not a subscriber

If I buy it from amazon.co.uk will it work in Ireland?
Yes. But have a look at Adverts.ie first where you will probably pick one up cheaper

Will I have to phone sky to activate the box?
No. If you are not a subscriber you dont do anything. If you do however continue to be a subscriber or become a new subscribe then you will have to ring to get the card paired with the box

Yeah I'm currently a sky subscriber, and get nearly all channels.

And do you have any idea where I can buy a card, as I now only have normal sky box.
