Consistent Puncture in rear tyre

I am consistently getting flat tyres in the rear tyre, there not snake bites as psi is up to 110. They only ever seem to happen in the morning on the way into work, I have gatorskin Tyres on my road bike, it usually goes 2 weeks without getting one, I've no idea what I'm doing wrong, I always check the tyre for any fragments in it prior to putting on the new tube. It's really annoying at this stage.

Could be something in the tyre that is well embedded when the tyre is deflated so you cannot see or feel it. Alternatively it could be some issue with the rim. Best way to isolate it is to swap the tyres over. If the problem stays with the rear wheel it's the rim, if it moves to the front it's the tyre. If you stop getting the flats, happy days!

Used to get lots of punctures, checked tyres, replaced tubes, replaced tyres and discovered eventually it was rim tape that was not fitted properly.

It's worth checking if the punctures are on the 'rimward' or 'tyreward' side of the tube. You can also line up the hole in the tube with the tyre/rim and pay particular attention to that general area. However, 99% of the time the solution to persistent punctures is a new tyre.

I had a gator which had had a serious puncture which left the inner skin protruding a bit. This would chafe on the tube and puncture over a period of a week or so. I patched the inner surface of the tyre which worked for a while.
