Anybody got any gizmo that could give a distance for the routes below please?
    Elevation would be a bonus.

    A. Kilgarvan to Glengariff via
    1) Borlin Valley
    2) priests Leap (not all the way back to Kenmare - there's a left turn for ....)
    3) Turners Rock (N71)
    4) Glengariff

    B. And from Glengariff to Kenmare via Healy Pass

    Thanks.. hopefully ..

    Ridewithgps.

BTW, the road from Glengariff to Kenmare (Caha Pass Tunnels) is closed at the moment due to road works.

    Route A is 60km
(Also the Priest Leap road is in absolute ribbons at the present. MTB territory IMHO).

    Route B is 54km.

If you are in that neck of the woods also consider Kilgarvan - Borlin - Kealkill - Pass of Keiminagh - Ballingeary - Mouth of the Glen - Top of Coom - Kilgarvan.

Great coffee at http://www.manningsemporium.ie/ which is at the bottom of the Borlin Valley/Priests Leap.

Really!? How in God's name are people supposed to get between the said towns - over the Priest's Leap???

I reckon you just want an excuse to use a MTB on the Priest's Leap so that you'll have girlie gears.

    Hear! Hear!

The n71 is being resurfaced (road from Gleng to Comhola Bridge is now fantastic).
Traffic being rerouted via Healy Pass is what I heard today.

I was in Ballylickey for lunch today and I travelled via Borlin.

U obviously know the territory. I'm trying to put together a route for a bunch of guys for a weekend. Starting and finishing in Killarney and overnight in Glengariff. A few pints there etc. Mixed group - sportive riders. I was thinking of route A (which they would 'remember)' and B for second day (a bit short?). Any suggestions?

On the good news front, I heard yesterday that the upper parts of Priest's Leap Road either side of the summit are to be resurfaced before the middle of June.

I was in Kenmare over the weekend, can confirm that vehicle traffic on the N71 between Glengariff and Kenmare is officially being diverted VIA Castletownbere! I guess they don't want busses and trucks going up the healy pass, it would be like and episode of Ice Road Truckers Most Dangerous Roads :)

Some of the roads are in a right state, don't know how you cats down there manage to cycle! I had a blow out in my car tyre, the side wall was shredded! Bloke in the tyre place In killorglin told me that anything was possible wirh kerry roads and advised never to buy a car locally :)
