    i have a spare PS3 slim is there anything interesting I could do with it?

    (besides playing games) :D

    You could use it as a media player similar to an Apple TV. Not a very exciting suggestion I know.

    But yeah, media center. Get yourself something like this. It will stream all your audio/video/pictures to your PS3 [and other DLNA compatible appliances / Android etc].

    Add to that, Netflix, RTE Player, MUBU, Qriosity, Vidzone.

    Plenty of Audio / Visual delights.
