I upgraded to sky+hd and have the old sd box in the kitchen for free channels, the card from the hd box wont work in the kitchen, would sky pair the card so I could watch sports in the kitchen by taking out the card or would they give me another card

You probably be better off signing up for Sky go and watching the sports on your laptop or PC or Iphone which is free

But FTAKeith will probably be along later and explain it better then me :D

In order for the card in the HD box to work on your SD box, Sky will have to pair the box & card. If you do that you won't get HD in the kitchen as you only have a SD box. You can't swap the cards around whenever you feel like it because every time you do it you'll have to get Sky to pair the card to the box.

If you want to watch sports in the kitchen you will have to take out a multi-room subscription.

The only other option you would have is using one of the red eye yokes or split the feed from box to TV and feed both TVs. Either way you will end up watching whatever is on your main box/telly but just in a different part of the house.
