I have been looking into this recently, and what I will say is go and look at example of peoples work in the flesh before you commit to getting your wheels done. Do not base it on photographs of work.

Also, regarding pricing, I have found that it is cheaper for me to send my wheels to the UK to get done than it is to get them done in some places here. I am sending them with some other peoples wheels on a pallet to a company called Lepsons. I have seen their work first hand and it is second to none. They say on their website that their finishes are sometimes better than factory finishes, and that is true. The work I have looked at is absolutely outstanding, and they have a fantastic reputation.

You could also try Tallaght Powder Coating.

I have had wheels refurbed in Eurosonics and I am not entirely impressed with the quality, hence the reason I am sending the wheels to the UK.

Also, Nu Luk have a good reputation too and are based in Belfast, albeit common feedback is that they are pricey.

I guess what I am saying is do your research in great detail before you commit!

    Thanks.

I totally agree with your comments & this was my plan anyway to see the finished product prior to getting anything done.

I've had the car a year & a half now & it came with the minor kurbing on the passenger side wheels so it's something I've been looking at for a while, just never found anyone I was particularily happy to go with.

I got a few recommendations before (Aluweld & another whose name I can't remember), but they're either gone out of business or I wasn't that impressed.

Can I ask what you were disappointed with when you got them done in Eurosonics?

The finish is a bit orange peely looking in places, and the colour isn't great. They were supposed to be an Anthracite colour but alas they are not!

    Ok, thanks again man.

Will have a look at a few places before I get them done.

Would be interested in seeing the results of the ones you get done in the UK whenever you get them back but for now I'll base my search in Ireland!

Getting the colour, finish & welding right would be the major factors for me, the cost would be of secondary importance if the results were right.

Lots of members on bmw-driver forum use Wheel Wizards in Finglas and have had good results from them.
Lots of photos of the alloys back after refurb and they looked as new.

No worries, I'll update you when I have mine done from the UK. If you are not too bothered about the price and are more concerned about quality, then Nu Luk in Belfast would be worth a shot. I haven't personally seen their work but I know a lot of people who own show cars who get work done there and the feedback is always good. Even aftercare is good too from what I have heard, as in redoing wheels that people are not happy with etc.

    Good luck with your mission!

Yes, you're right, I totally forgot about them. I've heard good things about them too!

    Good call!
