Laptop to buy ?

    Hi folks,i am looking to buy a laptop for around the e500 mark .Any tips/ideas what to go for or aviod .Thanks !

    Avoid anything less than a 2nd generation Core i3 processor (i.e anything with an AMD or Celeron/Pentium processor). Good offers start at ~€450, with luck you'll find a 2nd generation Core i5 laptop for around 500 yoyos.

    There's a Tosh Core i5 for €549 at complett.

    Core i3 laptops for under 500 Euro should be plenty.

    At saveonlaptops is another Tosh C660 with a slighly slower Core i5 for 350 quid (after cashback) plus a tenner dellivery (€440 ish).

    Passmark CPU benchmarks:

    Core i5-2410M @ 2.30GHz: 3363
    Core i5-2450M @ 2.50GHz: 3614
