Real Digital TV - Where is it?

What ever happened to Real Digital TV?

Their website was last updated in March where they said they would be down for 7 days while they did essential maintenance.

Over on Digital Spy the thread got locked back in Feb, and I haven't seen any updates since.

Whilst I doubt this project will ever get of the ground it was interesting watching them try and to be honest it would have been a good option for Irish viewers to have in our market.

    Anyone have any updates?

    This from their News Page:

"Saturday 31st March, 2012. REAL Digital is undergoing essential maintenance work on its satellite and as from midnight, the signal will be offline for approximately 7 days. Check back here for updated information or call our helpline +44 (0)844 567 7325 and choose option 5 for technical support."

Don't know if they are back and would'nt be surprised if they never were. Most of their channels are FTA anyway.

7 days maintenance on it's satellite? Cowboys. I wonder how many people bought into this rubbish.

Don't know if they are back and would'nt be surprised if they never were. Most of their channels are FTA anyway.

They never ever launched ANY channels. Just a proprietary box, Proprietary EPG that is lost if card is not active and promises of Pay TV to come (no firm lineup, no firm prices). The "free channels" supposed to sign up and pay to be on their EPG. Information TV is a partner in it. No-one else signed up so they offered to put the "pre-existing" Free Channels in their EPG for "free" till they reached 50,000 customers or something like that.

David Henry the Director was to appeal a bankruptcy judgement that would disqualified him from any executive position. That appeal I think would be over by now.

It was David Henry's Vanity "I hate sky" project. He has a long trail of failed companies and projects owing money.

They only ever transmitted some EPG data for box testing.

The boxes overpriced to help fund the EPG transmission costs and Conax Card.

Since the Card would be supplied with box, no-one needing "FTV" type encryption was going to ever sign up as there would only be geographic limitation by reception spot / beam, not viewer's validated address.

If they ever do launch a Pay TV package they will go bust in 12 to 24 months. The boxes then have NO EPG.
